Ariana Grande Shows Off Her Voice In Sparse ‘Dangerous Woman’ Music Video

Hot on the heels of hosting SNL, where she impersonated Celine Dion, found her “adult scandal,” and dressed up as a mermaid, Ariana Grande is back to her day job: singing (while dressed as the American Horror Story Gimp at an Easter party). The pint-sized vocalist released an a cappella version of the titular track from her upcoming album, Dangerous Woman, due out May 20. It’s an impressive showy performance that would make Mariah Carey happy (assuming they weren’t locked in a rumored feud), and there’s even a sweet air guitar solo. Grande’s new demographic is Wayne’s World fans, apparently.

But what could the lyrics mean?

Somethin’ ’bout you makes me feel like a dangerous woman
Somethin’ ’bout, somethin’ ’bout, somethin’ ’bout you
Makes me wanna do things that I shouldn’t
Somethin’ ’bout, somethin’ ’bout, somethin’ ’bout…

Grande told Billboard that “Dangerous Woman” is about “someone who’s not afraid to take a stand, be herself, and to be honest.” I think she’s describing Anya from Buffy the Vampire Slayer after a night that got out of control.
