Much in the same way that new hairstyles can be brought forth from the same old hairs that have always been on your head, new songs can be created from the parts of old ones you had lying around. That seems to be what Will Toledo was going for when he debuted a new version of the Teens Of Denial track “Unforgiving Girl” (and a new ‘do) during a stop on Conan.

Come for the rework of the track that sounds quite a bit like a Cars song (but not enough to get the band in trouble again), stay for the drummer helpfully wearing a shirt that says “Conan.”

In addition to the performance, the band also shared a studio version of the “Girl” re-imagining. Give that a spin below:

Car Seat Headrest have regularly shined on late-night TV since they made their debut on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert and a rendition of “Fill In The Blank.” Since then, the group have performed with The Roots and even covered Frank Ocean in network television’s wee hours. The new track isn’t quite as cool as Toledo breaking down “Ivy,” but it is something to see.
