Jay Z and Beyoncé are arguably the king and queen of pop music today, with Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears as their adoring prince and princess and Kanye West the joker who’s waiting for the right moment to slip a poison capsule into the king’s goblet of mead. So it makes perfect sense that they’d have a portrait artist around them at all times, to document their (and Blue Ivy’s) every supper, kiss, and pitchfork-pickup.
