Chris Brown might end up being the latest artist to cancel his Australian tour, if the country’s new minister of women has her way.

Minister Michaelia Cash told The Guardian that she will force careful consideration of whether or not Chris Brown should be allowed into the country. Brown infamously assaulted his then-girlfriend Rihanna on the night of the Grammys in 2009. Brown pled guilty to felony charges stemming from the incident and was sentenced to five years’ probation.

Cash made her comments on the controversy surrounding Brown’s Australian tour in the wake of pressure from women’s groups to deny Brown’s visa.

“I can assure you that the minister for immigration and border protection will be looking at this very, very seriously…I am clearly not going to pre-empt a decision by the minister, however, I can assure you what my strong recommendation would be.”

Tyler, The Creator wasn’t outright banned from entering Australia, but willfully cancelled his tour following protests over his stops in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. He was, however, later banned from entering the United Kingdom due to complaints over his music. The former Odd Future rapper said he was treated “like a terrorist” by U.K. authorities.

Snoop Dogg also battled visa issues of not being allowed to work in Australia, but that was eventually lifted.
