What Would’ve Happened If Chris Brown Actually Accepted CM Punk’s Challenge To Fight?

Is it entirely Chris Brown’s fault that he’s never truly atoned for the vicious beating he put on Rihanna in 2009? Sure, he got in some trouble with the law, but no jail time. Sure, some radio stations banned his music for about two seconds, before placing him back into heavy rotation. What we see of Brown is a man-child who throws chairs through windows during interviews, and who has his goons fight for him on a Las Vegas basketball court. There’s absolutely no justifying his violent past, and he’s not to be excused for it. But, is he alone to blame?

He’s been coddled by the media with almost no reprieve following the Rihanna incident. The Grammys have nominated him 11 times starting the very next year after he punched, smacked, and bit a defenseless woman, swelling her lips and causing her head contusions. How can we make Chris Brown truly atone? Put him in the octagon with CM Punk.

Remember the video above? It’s a few years old, but with Monday’s news of more violence from Brown, it’s time to revisit it. You can see Punk chomping at the bit to get Brown in a compromising situation, and I think we’re all chomping at the bit to see it happen.

Punk, who’s left behind professional wrestling for the MMA world, needs to be tested in the UFC, but he also needs some warm-up fights. What better way to kill two birds with one stone than by having Chris Brown get humiliated by a “fake” wrestler on national TV? Make no mistake about it, Punk would whip Brown’s ass. He’s training with the elite of the MMA world right now, and before that, he was training in jiu-jitsu for years. Just look at the above video. Punk isn’t a woman. Brown won’t have his lackeys to back him up. Just one-on-one in a cage. I guarantee it’ll be more entertaining than Mayweather vs. Pacquiao, and it might make just as much money (well, not that much, but it would sell a lot).

Forget Jose Canseco vs. some reality TV bum. The world needs CM Punk vs. Chris Brown. More than anything else, the scales of justice need this.
