Someone Launched A GoFundMe To Help Meek Mill Pay For A Drake Diss Track

Meek Mill accused Drake of having a ghostwriter, and then has gone mostly silent, even as Drake has fired back with two diss tracks, “Charged Up” and “Back To Back.” Mill had some words for Drake at a stop on Nicki Minaj’s Pinkprint Tour, but that’s been about it. No response track. No appearance on Funk Flex’s show.

Now, Meek Mill fans unwilling to let another Drake shot go even a minute without a response from their “favorite rapper” have set up a GoFundMe campaign to help him pay for the studio time to whip up a rebuttal. Couple questions here:

1. Since when does Meek Mill need help paying for studio time? His June release Dreams Worth More Than Money hit No. 1 on the Billboard album charts, moving 246,000 units in the first week alone.

2. Who says he doesn’t already have some lyrical fire ready to be unleashed as soon as he gets back from touring with Nicki?

3. With a goal of $3,000, are the GoFundMe fans looking to get a 5-second diss track? Because that’s about how much studio time you’ll get for that amount of money. Touching gesture, though!

4. As Gotty suggests, maybe fans are hoping Mill will use the funds to “buy his own Quentin Miller to help him,” and avoid having to get his own money tied up in a ghostwriter fee.

As of Wednesday, when the campaign was pulled from GoFundMe, it had two backers and raised $10. Some dreams apparently aren’t worth more than that. Sigh.

Meanwhile, there could be a third shot coming from Drake on Wednesday night, according to the Aubrey-cosigned Makonnen.
