With The Office being done for a few years now and The Hangover series over, too, Ed Helms has some free time on his hands, which he’ll fill by releasing an album with his folk group, The Lonesome Trio, on June 16.
This isn’t a shocking turn for Helms. His character on The Office, Andy, is a bit of reflection of Helms in real life, singing and playing folk songs on his banjo. He’s been a regular around the L.A. folk scene for quite some time now, and the band, as Rolling Stone Country points out, has been playing together for more than two decades, and they’ve played events like the Newport Folk Fest. They’ll even be performing at this year’s Bonnaroo Bluegrass Situation SuperJam.
