Flaming Lips, Pharrell Are Offering 2-For-1 ‘Affordable Ticket Act’ Tickets Because Screw The Government

I believe Tenacious D put it best when they sang, “The government totally sucks, you motherf*cker/The government totally sucks/The government totally sucks.” It’s beautiful, really, and a nice summation of everything that’s happening, and not happening, in our nation’s capital right now. Parks are closed, federal employees are furloughed, and museums have been coated with gasoline and set on fire, I assume, so really, you have no excuse to not take advantage of 2-for-1 concert tickets in Washington D.C. (if you live there). Reports the Post:

The 9:30 Club has some welcome news for anyone worried about the financial costs of furloughs and shutdowns: Tickets for nine October shows at the 9:30 Club, U Street Music Hall, Lincoln Theatre and Merriweather Post Pavilion are now buy one, get one free. All you have to do to take advantage of the “Affordable Ticket Act” is purchase one or two tickets before 11:59 p.m. Wednesday using the promo code 930ATA. The free tickets will be available at will call on the night of the show. (Via)

The deal includes concerts for Marky Ramone’s Blitzkrieg with Andrew W.K., the Flaming Lips, Tame Impala, Soul Asylum, Fountains of Wayne, Evan Dando, and Pharrell Williams. God bless the USAAAAAAAA.
