For the Flaming Lips April Fools Day’ prank to work, you have to accept that they haven’t “sold out” already, despite proof, a.k.a. Virgin Mobile commercials and Ke$ha duets, to the contrary. OK, got it? Got it. The Flaming Lips companion album to Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon is real, but it’s also not, because it’s a part of a greater Flaming Lips/Funny or Die collaboration. The punchline: the Lips are ready to sell out.
