Former Member Of Punk Band Cro-Mags Stabs And Bites Current Members Of Punk Band Cro-Mags

They say a picture’s worth a thousand words, and the picture above screams, “I’m a f*cking insane former-founding member of a hardcore punk band and I’m mad that I’m not in the band anymore and I’m going to attack someone who is with a hunting knife, possibly biting them, too, before being taken away in a wheelchair after suffering a broken leg.” Which is exactly what happened. It’s a very specific picture.

According to New York Post:

A former member of the hard-core punk band the Cro-Mags attacked two of the group’s current members with a hunting knife in a dressing room before a show at Webster Hall [as part of the CBGB Festival] yesterday — biting one and slashing both.

The band was about to take the stage about 8:15 p.m. when tattooed rocker Harley Flanagan, 42, barreled through the East Village venue’s VIP section toward the Cro-Mags’ dressing room, sending nearly 30 guests on the balcony into a frenzy, law enforcement sources and witnesses said. (Via)

Flanagan was subdued by security, but not before breaking his leg. It’s tough to deny the impact Flanagan’s Cro-Mags had on the hardcore punk scene, especially in New York, but it sucks that this happened during the inaugural CBGB Festival, though. At least the members of Talking Heads, which got their big break at the punk club, would be proud — I’m convinced at least half of their songs are about biting some dude on the cheek.
