This year’s MTV Video Music Awards just got an injection of swag with the latest performer added to the lineup. Mr. Everything at the moment Future will be gracing television screens across the nation when he takes the stage at Madison Square Garden as part of the show, the network announced on Monday.

The chance to take perform at the VMAs is a career first for Future, a distinction that’s been well earned over the past few years. He’s arguably on one of the hottest runs in rap right now, paced only by Drake, who also happens to be the “Wicked” rapper’s tour mate on the Summer Sixteen tour. He’s made himself a fan favorite by releasing music that’s found equal success in the clubs, the streets, radio and sales registers. Future’s last three releases — 2015’s DS2 and 2016’s Evol plus his Drake collab, What a Time to Be Alive — all landed at the top of the Billboard 100 and managed to garner critical acceptance as well.

The Atlanta artist joins the likes of Britney Spears, Rihanna and Nick Jonas as confirmed performers for the show. The 2016 MTV Video Music Awards will air on Sunday, August 28 at 9PM. Check out the full list of nominees right here.
