‘Gilmore Girls’ Fake Rock Band Reunited In Austin With A Country Cover Of Beyonce

Hep Alien is the fake band from the much loved television program Gilmore Girls. However, as AV Club reported, for one special night, the majority of the band put on a show for some unsuspecting and unprepared festival-goers. Three of the actors that made up the Gilmore Girls band, Keiko Agena, Todd Lowe, and John Cabrera, performed at the ATX Television Fest down in Austin.

There are no leads as to why Stars Hollow, Connecticut’s foremost rock band was down in Austin, but there they were, and they were in character as Lane Kim, Zach Van Gerbig, and Brian Fuller. Missing from the band were the characters played by Adam Brody and Sebastian Bach, the latter of whom, as an actual musician, probably could have really taken the show up a notch.

Hep Alien played songs by Blondie and The White Stripes, did their take on “Single Ladies” by Beyonce, and also tore through a version of Gilmore Girls theme song, “Where You Lead” by Carole King. Back in October of last year, the gang got together for their first “reunion” show. However, for now, Hep Alien heads back into the realm of fictional bands, perhaps to become real once again someday.
