Rumors of Grateful Dead’s demise may have been exaggerated.
While the Fare Thee Well shows were the last run of shows for all the surviving members of the jam icons, a splinter group of Dead members that includes Bob Weir, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann are teaming up with John Mayer and musicians from the Allman Brothers Band and Ratdog to tour as Dead & Company.
The 10-date tour kicks off in Albany, N.Y. on October 29 and runs through New Year’s Eve. The group had already announced the Halloween show at Madison Square Garden, but they have nine more shows lined up that are news to us.
