Heems Shuttered The Greedhead Label And Bashed His Artists On Twitter

Heems released his excellent album Eat Pray Thug exactly four months ago. The album was an interesting meditation on Himanshu Suri’s life in New York following the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks that earned rave reviews for the former Das Racist member.

But outside of his own music, it appears that Heems has been struggling. He announced on Twitter that he’s folding the Greedhead label that he started in 2008 and took shots at the label’s roster.

Greedhead has put out mixtapes for both Das Racist members and albums for Le1f, Lakutis, Big Baby Gandhi and comedian Joe Mande among others. Apparently, Heems hasn’t seen a return on investment from these releases and has heard grumblings from the artists that the label was at fault for low sales.

While he doesn’t mention anyone by name, he does say “Maybe my sh*t pops off cause I don’t blame others for my shortcomings” while addressing others low sales. Read the rest of the tweets below:
