Jack White Wasn’t Grumpy While Playing In This Celebrity Baseball Game

A few years ago, Jack White famously got caught looking miserable at a Chicago Cubs game. To be fair to him, that reaction was warranted in years that aren’t this current one or the last one. Still, the internet couldn’t help but point out that he looked like he hated the concepts of baseball and organized sports in their entirety. But it looks like the former White Stripe has patched things up with America’s pastime because he took part in a celebrity baseball game in Alabama on April 26.

White played first base for his Third Man Records’ team at designer Billy Reid’s annual celebrity game at the University of Northern Alabama, facing sandlot teams from Alabama and Texas. Check out some photos from the event (including one very Eight Men Out-ish team shot in their on-brand black and yellow jerseys) below:

This is far from the first time that White has shown his enthusiasm for baseball. He thanked members of the Detroit Tigers organization in the liner notes for his album Lazaretto and is invested in the baseball bat company Warstic. If that’s not enough to prove his baseball bonafides, he even has his own Topps card.
