Jack White opened up Third Man Records in his adopted hometown Nashville over 7 years ago. Now, he’s finally come back to his actual hometown of Detroit to open another ridiculously on-brand, old-timey record store.

The store opened on the morning of November 27 after an invite-only party on Thanksgiving night.

“It’s such a wonderful thing for Third Man Records to be here in the Cass Corridor, where so many of us made our bones and so many people from Detroit and our community did so many artistic things,” Jack White said in a toast, according to Billboard. “Everything about this neighborhood to me seems like the perfect place for the renaissance, the rebirth, the growth from the ashes that Detroit’s gonna rise from.”

The new store is 4,000 sq. feet total and will host a number of shows, events and other promotions similar to the flagship location in Nashville. The store took part in the now annual tradition of special Black Friday record releases, an event that has become a miniature version of Record Store Day, the annual celebration of independent record stores that takes place every April.

Billboard says that die-hards lined up for Black Friday at the store starting Thursday night, and were treated to Thanksgiving dinner and late-night refreshments via the store’s staff.
