The Pitch Perfect star appeared on Corden’s Late Late Show where the two performed a musical medley depicting the rise and fall and (spoiler) rise again of their fictional relationship.
Pairing old school classics with modern hits, their whirlwind love begins with the innocent thrill of courtship to the daily drudgeries of married life, to a cheating scandal and back again.
The Broadway style riff will have romantic types (who are also keen on cliches) at the edge of their seats as they await the couple’s imminent return to one another.
Yet with songs ranging from Cher’s “Believe” to the Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face,” even the most cynical viewer won’t be able to help but root for the rekindling of Corden and Kendrick’s love before the five minutes is up.
