Jay-Z And Kanye Push Back Watch The Throne Tour, Cancel Some Dates

Amid rumors that Jay-Z and Kanye West are feuding so heavily over Watch The Throne that they’re barely speaking to each other, the duo announced this morning that they’re pushing back the highly anticipated tour for the record, eliminating some dates in the process. Hope you weren’t looking forward to seeing them in Minnesota, like this guy.

Below is the amended tour schedule. Notice that shows that were scheduled in the first leg of the tour — in places like New York, Toronto, Montreal, Denver, Detroit and Vancouver, in addition to Minneapolis — have been eliminated.

10/29 – Atlanta, GA @ Philips Arena
10/30 – Greensboro, NC @ Greensboro Coliseum
11/01 – Baltimore, MD @ 1st Mariner Arena
11/02 – Philadelphia, PA @ Wells Fargo Arena
11/03 – Washington, DC @ Verizon Center
11/05 – E. Rutherford, NJ @ Izod Center
11/06 – E. Rutherford, NJ @ Izod Center
11/21 – Boston, MA @ TD Garden
11/23 – Toronto, ON @ Air Canada Centre
11/26 – Detroit, MI @ Palace of Auburn Hills
12/01 – Chicago, IL @ United Center
12/05 – Houston, TX @ Toyota Center
12/06 – Dallas, TX @ American Airlines Center
12/09 – Las Vegas, NV @ MGM Grand Garden Arena
12/10 – San Jose, CA @ HP Pavilion
12/12 – Los Angeles, CA @ Staples Center
12/18 – Vancouver, BC @ Rogers Arena

Now, I’m presuming they can always add shows later, but how do Jay-Z and Kanye do a North American tour without a stop in New York? (No, New Jersey doesn’t count.) I mean, COME ON. Is it safe to say that this whole thing has reached sh*tshow status at this point?

In other, more uplifting, Watch The Throne news, listening session parties(?) are producing good reviews, and Spike Jonze — who recently directed the new Beastie Boys video — has been tapped to direct the video for “Otis,” the first release off the album. That is, however, if he can manage to get the two in the same room together, which seems akin to getting ketchup out of a new bottle at this point.
