In 2013, an eternity ago for a pop star, Katy Perry released her fourth album, Prism. It wasn’t quite as successful as the staggeringly popular Teenage Dream — one of only two albums to ever produce five Billboard Hot 100-topping hits — but “Roar” and “Dark Horse” hit number one, and she landed the Super Bowl halftime show. Since then, however, things have been pretty quiet from Perry. When she’s been in the news, it’s been for reasons other than her singing, like following “Slutty Taylor Swift” on Instagram, or getting exposed as JonBenet Ramsey all grown up, or having her Twitter hacked and filled with hate. For everyone except T-Swift. That’s how you could tell it wasn’t her.
Perry has the most popular account on Twitter, and it’s usually filled with innocuous tweets like, “I just dabbed as I sneezed into my arm. I’m gonna give myself a 5 minute timeout now,” and “a valid reason they call it the club sandwich could be if you can fit your mouth round it you must be in some kinda club.” But last night, her 89 million followers (about half of which are real, living humans, and not CoverGirl bots) were greeted with the following.

That account — @sw4ylol — sent its first tweet on May 29, and according to TechCrunch, “It also tweeted a link to a SoundCloud song supposedly by Katy Perry, which was taken down after a copyright claim by Universal Music Group.” As for @keemstar, that leads to KEEM, the “creator of #DramaAlert #1 source for News on the Social interactions in Online Entertainment!”
I’m guessing Perry was either hacked by a Taylor Swift fanatic, or she’s involved in a conspiracy theory with Left Shark. They have so many pajamas left to sell. Gotta get back in the news somehow.
