Keith Richards Describes His Dying Wish, And It’s 100 Percent Keith Richards

As you can see from the above photo, Keith Richards had a grand time at the GQ Men of the Year Awards with wife Patti Hansen in tow. The men’s magazine bestowed Richards with the Legend award, which coincides with the release of his upcoming solo album, Crosseyed Heart. GQ praised Richards’ ensemble of a classic black suit paired with a skinny tie, and they call him a style icon (even though he left the kerchief at home).

Richards himself has been on a delightful tear lately. Over the course of a few weeks, he threw shade at Metallica and rap music and dissed contemporaries like The Beatles. Richards brings it back to numero uno here with a very Richards admission. This all relates to the ultimate Keith Richards urban legend, which just happens to be true. Richards did in fact snort his father’s ashes, and now he wants his daughters to do the same for him:

Keith Richards has a dying wish, a very fitting dying wish … that his daughters Theodora, 30, and Alexandra, 28, snort his ashes after he dies.

Yep, just like a line of coke.

It’s kind of a family tradition … the Rolling Stones guitarist — who battled cocaine and heroin addiction — infamously admitted snorting his own father’s cremated remains in a 2007 interview.

Richards goes on to say he’s a generous father, so he’ll supply the straw. No word on whether he’ll go so far to provide the requisite mixer and make this a complete Richards family affair, but some secrets must remain hidden.

Not incidentally, Netflix just dropped their trailer for the Keith Richards: Under the Influence documentary. He drawls, “I know who I am, but I realize people think Keith Richards is still smoking a joint, bottle in his hand, cursing the fact that the liquor store is closed.” Yup.
