Billboard‘s latest interview with Lana Del Rey is the most LDR thing to ever happen. This is peak Lana. It’s more Lana than doing an interview with James Franco, more than saying she doesn’t find feminism to be interesting, more LDR than whatever the “Carmen” video was. Check this quote out:

“It’s hard for me sometimes to think about going on when I know we’re going to die.”

It’s beautiful. She may as well have pulled an Urban Outfitters t-shirt out of her mouth with that quote on it and handed it to the interviewer. That quote comes with an Instagram filter. She continued by explaining that she’s had a strong fear of death since her early childhood.

“I’ve always been prone to it. I remember being four years old and I’d just seen a show on TV where the person was killed. And I turned to my parents and said, ‘Are we all going to die?’ They said ‘Yes,’ and I was totally distraught! I broke down in tears and said, ‘We have to move!'”

And it doesn’t seem like there’s much hope for Lana to get over her fears. She said she’s seen therapists, but never successfully eradicated her phobia.

She’s also not afraid of death exclusively.

“I go for swims and am actually shocked I do that. Because one thing I’m terrified of is sharks.”
