Le1f Stays Weird As Hell In His New Music Video ‘Koi’

It’s more than fair to say that Le1f makes weird music videos. This is the same guy who made a name for himself while sitting in the lap of an oiled-up man in a Pikachu mask, after all. But even by that relaxed standard, his new music video for “Koi” is plenty strange.

“Koi” plays like the product of an alternate universe where MTV is still running music videos in 2050, and Tim & Eric ran for 30 seasons in primetime on NBC. It’s a perfect companion to the hyperkinetic production of PC Music’s SOPHIE and Le1f’s own out-there rhymes.

Le1f twerks and vogues next to a pair of giant, disembodied lips, and it isn’t even the fifth weirdest thing in this video. “Koi” shows us all what the beach looks like in the world from those Svedka commercials.

It also contains the stupidest visual pun that will be committed to tape in 2015, bet on it. You have to hand it to him. Le1f saw an opportunity and he went for it.

Le1f’s album Riot Boi will drop sometime this fall. For more on him, check out this documentary on NYC MCs that also features Flatbush Zombies and Action Bronson.
