Lorde Is Playing Her First Show In 2.5 Years Tonight In A Small California Venue

Lorde took to Twitter tonight to let fans know she’d be playing a special Coachella pre-show — literally her first show in two and a half years — and the tickets were only going to be $20 because she is now 20 years old. (Sigh, that she’s only 20 and already this wise, brilliant and accomplished.) Of course, as soon as she announced the show, which she’d teased yesterday, tickets were sold out:

No literally, it only took one minute:

Which isn’t that surprising given how popular Lorde currently is, how hotly anticipated her new album Melodrama, the follow-up to her 2014 debut Pure Heroine, is, and how small Pappy & Harriet’s is compared to the size of venues that she normally plays. It only holds about 300 people, and certainly more than that in the LA area would love to hear Lorde perform tonight.

Furthermore, it’s very likely that she’ll be performing new, already-released tracks like “Green Light” and “Liability” for the first time, and maybe even playing other new songs off the record that haven’t been put out into the world yet!

Well, thanks to a quick-clicking friend I will be heading to the show tonight, so make sure to follow Uproxx Music on Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat for updates from the front lines. Guess I better get packing.

Melodrama is out 6/18 via Universal. Pre-order it here.
