Watch Madonna Busk In Paris With A Performance Of John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’

Many artists who were scheduled to perform in Paris after the attacks were forced to either postpone their shows or cancel them altogether, but Madonna wasn’t one of them. She went on to perform a sold-out show at Paris’ Bercy Arena on Wednesday night. With her Rebel Heart tour making a stop in Paris, Madonna decided to pay tribute to the city with an impromptu post-show busking in the city’s streets. The pop star performed acoustic renditions of her hits “Like a Prayer” and “Ghost Town” along with an emotional cover of John Lennon’s “Imagine.”

The small tribute was held at Place de la République with Madonna’s son David and guitarist Monte Pittman, along with fans singing to the acoustic cover of “Imagine.” According to The Guardian, Madge told the small crowd, “Everybody knows why we’re here. We just want to sing a few songs about peace, just to spread love and joy, and to pay our honor and respect to the people who died almost four weeks ago. And to spread light … we all need it.”
