Watch This Man Cover Metallica’s ‘Enter Sandman’… Backwards

He covered Slayer with a banjo. He did some riffs during a dentist visit. Now, Rob Scallon has made the weirdest Metallica cover we’ve seen in quite some time.

To kick off his new “May-tallica” series, Scallon covered “Enter Sandman” backwards, making for some eerie instrumental shifts behind completely distorted lyrics in what he told Loudwire was “the most confusing thing he’s ever done.”

The actual music is the most “normal” aspect of the project. Pretzel regurgitation, party streamer removal, silly string flying back into its can and packing peanuts soaring to the ceiling add to the bizarreness of this video.

For comparison, Scallon released the normal version of his video, as well, behind the backward lyrics:

Metallica may be releasing a new album in the near future, but I, for one, am more excited to see what Scallon has in store for the rest of May-tallica.
