So Michael Jackson's Promoter Got Cleared In His Death Lawsuit

Maybe you guys have heard of a singer called Michael Jackson. Let’s just say maybe you have. Let’s also say that maybe he died four years ago from taking what basically amounts to medical heroin, which he used to go to sleep. Let’s also say that maybe… just maybe… a doctor gave him that amount. Let’s also say that maybe the promoter hired the doctor (which, according to this lawsuit, they’ve been cleared of).

Well – in a “just the facts, ma’am” lawsuit – in what amounts to what could have been a multi-million dollar lawsuit, the promoter – AEG Entertainment – just got cleared of the fact that they hired that damn doctor. Well, today, a judge ruled that AEG got cleared of any wrongdoing in that lawsuit. AEG’s lawyer Martin Putnam said in a statement:

“The jury’s decision completely vindicates AEG Live, confirming what we have known from the start – that, although Michael Jackson’s death was a terrible tragedy, it was not a tragedy of AEG Live’s making.”

Dr Conrad Murray was cleared in a 2011 trial, although was jailed for four years. This brings an alleged closure to a four year long legal battle from the Jackson family over the death of Michael. So there’s that. We aren’t saying that AEG was responsible in any way. Although we will say that good lord that took four years of legal battles to figure out?
