Miguel Ripped ‘SNL’ And Donald Trump By Saying Voting For Him Is ‘F*cking Ignorant’

Soulful R&B crooner Miguel is mostly known for his romantic side on plenty of hits like “Coffee” and “Adorn,” but the Grammy winner has been known to dip into more social-issue territory like race, on tracks like “what’s normal anyway.” Well, if that was a dip, his new interview with NME is a cannonball splashing all over the controversial Republican candidate for president, Donald Trump.

Despite being a man of many enemies, including television network NBC, Trump continues to flourish in the polls and greater popular favor. Miguel took exceptional issue with the folks at SNL inviting him to host after cutting times with him just months ago:

“I believe it will be good for the ratings, I’m sure that’s how they’re looking at it too. But you know, I think there’s also a responsibility that you have to have. And I don’t think ignorance deserves that kind of attention and unfortunately we live in a world where attention is the ultimate currency.”

“His ability to aggregate attention is valuable to a network, a business where advertising is the source of income,” he continued. “And that means you need as much attention as possible. If I was asked to perform on the same episode as Donald Trump, I would be faced with the same decision as the network. And me being who I am I would definitely decline, probably at my own detriment.”

Miguel went on to talk about the front-runner’s horrible economic past and said that he didn’t have a candidate yet, because he wants to listen to each one individually on the issues. But as far as Trump goes?

“There’s a tremendous responsibility that we all have just to not be f*cking ignorant.”

We’re going to guess that’s not an endorsement.
