Miley Cyrus Joins ‘The Voice’ As A Key Adviser, But Will She Bring Drama?

Another special guest “advisor” is being added to The Voice’s ranks, and it might not be who you expect. The show has previously hosted names as big as Taylor Swift as advisors to the hopeful contestants, and now they are bringing on the veritable anti-Swift in Miley Cyrus. As Rolling Stone reports, Cyrus will be a key advisor in the 10th season of The Voice (no, it hasn’t been on for ten full years, you aren’t that old yet) and will hopefully bring some additional craziness to what is an already banter-filled show. NBC is very happy to have her, unsurprisingly.

When Miley speaks everyone pays attention. Our artists are very lucky to have the benefit of her instincts and wisdom,” Paul Telegdy, NBC Entertainment President, Alternative and Late Night Programming, said in a statement. “Our viewers will be treated to an inside look at one of the brightest minds in music and the entertainment industry who is at the forefront of pop culture.”

Cyrus has been pretty busy lately, what with her out of nowhere reunion with former fiancé Liam Hemsworth, new album, a role in Woody Allen’s Amazon series, and an adorable rescue dog. The former Disney star and current wild child of the music scene has always been a hard worker, so it’s reasonable to expect she can carve out some time in her busy schedule of testing new strains of weed with Snoop Dogg to mentor another generation of talented artists. If this stint goes well, it may only be a matter of time before Cyrus takes over a permanent slot in one of the big spinning chairs.
