Trent Reznor has been quite busy for the past few years. While he hasn’t stepped away from music, he took the time to nab an Oscar and possibly become the next Ennio Morricone. There was the whole whole Fight Club rock opera business, and he somehow embraced Beats Music, which bit him in the butt after his notorious Timbaland “beats” joke a few years prior.

Reznor never said Nine Inch Nails was dead for good, but fans weren’t exactly holding out hope. Reznor’s in a different place than he was two decades (or even one) ago. He’s a family and businessman now. Does he still possess enough rage to fire up some new NIN? According to Reznor himself, it will happen in 2016:

Can we call this the announcement of “imminent” music? Probably not, but 2016 is only a few weeks away. This lady is excited, for I’ve seen NIN in concert twice with vastly different experiences. In 1995, Reznor ended a song and screamed, “F*ck off!” In 2008, he finished the same song and softly said, “Thank you.” No one knows what variety of Reznor 2016 will bring.

Twitter is pretty pumped over this news. Doesn’t it make you feel better?
