Panic! At The Disco Jumping On The ‘Stranger Things’ Bandwagon Is Nice And Terrifying

Stranger Things has been one of the biggest cultural phenomenons of 2016, with the ’80s inspired Netflix drama captivating viewers, and appearing in countless other forms of pop culture. We’ve seen the kids from the show hand out sandwiches at the Emmys, and we’ve heard Millie Bobby Brown rap Nicki Minaj’s verse from “Monster.” The latest act to get in on the craze? Panic! at the Disco.

The band recently debuted the video clip for their new single “LA Devotee,” and it features Noah Schnapp in his role as Will Byers as he is taken to a satanic lair not unlike the Upside Down from the show. First, we see him abducted from a field where crop circles form the signature exclamation point in the band’s logo. Then, we find him tied to a chair, and mouthing the lyrics to the song. Throughout the video, the viewer is bombarded with satanic imagery, as we repeatedly see goats horns, wolves, and shadowy figures throughout. Meanwhile, Brendon Urie sports a pompadour that would make Morrissey jealous.

“LA Devotee” is the latest single from the band’s fifth studio album Death of a Bachelor, which was released to critical acclaim this past January. The song initially peaked at no. 15 on the Billboard Hot Rock Songs chart last year, but this innovative clip may give it a significant boost.
