Rihanna Cements Her Status As Music Royalty With A One-Of-A-Kind Performance At The VMAs

It’s hard to believe that Rihanna is still relatively young given the enormous amount of success she’s amassed in just a short amount of time. Since scoring a record deal at the tender age of 17 and releasing her smash single “Pon De Replay,” music’s bad gyal has routinely proven all haters and critics wrong by continually following each single, each album and each video with music bigger and better than her last.

At this year’s MTV VMAs, Rihanna will be presented with one of the ceremony’s most highest honors, the Video Vanguard Award, named after visionary Michael Jackson. However, before accepting the well-deserved and much-earned honor, an all-pink Rih Rih and her immaculately sleek ponytail opened up the VMAs by running through just a small selection of her vast, hits-filled catalogue, performing songs “We Found Love,” and “Where Have You Been” with her amazing crew of dancers. Why so short? That’s because the pop superstar is expected to perform THREE more times. It is her big night afterall!
