Someone Managed To Take Smash Mouth’s ‘All Star’ To Nightmarish Levels By Mangling The Tempo

Smash Mouth is in the news? Did we mysteriously get sent back to 1999 when their song “All Star” was practically unavoidable? Nope, it’s still 2016 and thanks to Youtuber CoolStoryCory the track from the Ben Stiller flick, Mystery Men and the hit single off of Smash Mouth’s Astro Lounge is now worse than the original.

How could this be possible? Well, every single instrument on the track has been manipulated to be playing at a slightly different tempo causing a cacophony of disjointed noise that is the equivalent of listening to a dozen elementary school bands playing the same song but only a fraction of a second apart. We know President Obama is closing Gitmo, but hearing this on a loop would cause any terrorist to start speaking ASAP. It’s painful to listen to and we think this version of “All Star” is going to be used as a new challenge for people online to test their mental strength. And like every meme, there will be a dozen copycats. If you think listening to the twisted version of “All Star” is bad, get ready for Limp Bizkit’s “Nookie” to go off tempo.

Smash Mouth made news last year when the band’s lead singer flipped out on the crowd at the Taste of Fort Collins music festival during a performance of, you guessed it, “All Star.”
