This Is What It Sounds Like When You Sing ‘Stairway To Heaven’ Backwards. The Result Is Better Than You Think

Led Zeppelin will turn you and your firstborn into Satan-loving freaks. So goes the rumor that if played backward, the lyrics to “Stairway to Heaven” say, “Here’s to my sweet Satan/The one whose little path would make me sad, whose power is Satan/He will give those with him 666/There was a little tool shed where he made us suffer, sad Satan,” to which Robert Plant once responded, “Who on Earth would have ever thought of doing that?”

As a sort-of spoof on the rumor, Dutch artist Jeroen Offerman spent three months learning how to sing the song in reverse, according to Dangerous Minds. He “then filmed himself…[reversing] the footage.” It’s pretty great.
