Sylvan Esso, Blur And More Of The Best Music Videos And Songs You Missed This Week

This week we saw A$AP Rocky team up with Rod Stewart (who saw that coming?), Fetty Wap take over the world (everyone saw that coming), and new music from Mikal Cronin and Snoop Dogg.

However, that’s only a small bit of the music that dropped this week. Here are some of the videos and songs you may have missed.

Sylvan Esso – “H.S.K.T.”

Less nursery rhyme and more dance floor thumper, the latest from Sylvan Esso’s self-titled debut gives everyone an excuse to dance with lyrics illuminated on chests and faces. Kind of like you would in a club, except you still have your money and you’re sober… maybe.

Giorgio Moroder – “Deja Vu” Featuring Sia

Electronic music pioneer Giorgio Moroder’s reemergence from obscurity has already proven worthwhile with his collaborations with Daft Punk and Coldplay, to name a few. Now, he’s partnered up with another reclusive superstar in Sia. “Deja Vu” is a confectionery delight that you probably won’t get out of your head.

Blur – “Tender” Backstage at The Tonight Show

After appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon for the first U.S. television appearance in nearly 15 years, Blur also decided to play their classic track “Tender” singalong style as an online exclusive. Jimmy knowing the harmonies is actually pretty impressive.

Metz – “The Swimmer”

Along with their sophomore album, II, dropping this week, the fuzzy punks in Metz also decided to release a new video for their single “The Swimmer.” Shot to look like a bunch of GIFs strung together, the nasty looking clip is the perfect companion to the blasted out guitars and vocals from the Toronto natives.

Ducktails – “Headbanging In The Mirror”

Perhaps the most ironically named track this week, “Headbanging In The Mirror” is the first track from Ducktails’ new album, St. Catherine. The spinoff from massive indie rock group Real Estate, the breezy song is the perfect soundtrack to a summer chillout and the worst soundtrack to headbanging. Luckily, we can put it to use elsewhere.
