This British Tabloid Has A Crazy Theory About Taylor Swift’s New Boyfriend

While I’m not in the habit of believing everything I read in British tabloids, this morning The Sun dropped a story about Taylor Swift and a rumored new boyfriend, which of course is too intriguing for me — or anyone else — to ignore. So take all of this information with a big grain of salt — The Sun offers no proof that their story about Taylor’s blossoming new romance is true, other than conjecture and the word of the ever-betraying “friend.” However, this paper was the one that infamously procured those pics of Taylor and Tom Hiddleston that publicly confirmed their relationship, so maybe they’re onto something.

According to their new report, Taylor has been renting a house in North London, taking private jets, and even going so far as to wear disguises in public, just to keep her relationship with 26-year-old British star Joe Alwyn private. Alwyn lives at home with his parents in London — something the tabloid sorta gives him a lot of grief about — and has starred in such films as Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk, and his current project, and the adaptation of Julian Barnes’ novel The Sense Of An Ending.

“Taylor and Joe are the real deal, this is a very serious relationship,” one source reportedly told The Sun. “But after what happened with Tom Hiddleston, they were determined to keep it quiet. Taylor has flown in via private jets and her security has made it a military-like mission to prevent her from being seen.”

According to the tabloid, Taylor thinks it was the increased media scrutiny following her massive breakout pop album 1989 and the coinciding world tour that killed her relationship with Hiddleston so quickly.

“After her 1989 tour and all the attention Taylor received, she learned she had to be more protective of her personal life and she and Joe decided early on to keep their private life private,” a “friend” told The Sun. Some friend!

“She’s been walking around with Joe in London using disguises, like scarves and hats, to keep her identity under wraps,” The Sun quotes from another source. “Nobody has a clue they’ve been walking past a music superstar –- not even her new neighbors.”

If this is all speculating, then poor Alwyn, with his barely 3,000+ Twitter presence and lowkey British family life, is in for a lot of unexpected attention today. However, if it’s true, I’m sure the Taylor Swift machine will be working soon enough to take control of the narrative, one she never asked to be a part of… let’s wait and see. According to her normal patterns, Taylor should be releasing a new album this fall, and considering everything that’s happened since 1989, this one is bound to be a doozy.
