The Columbus Zoo Recreated Taylor Swift’s Latest Video With Real Wildlife

The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium has more than 7,000 animals. They used to have the longest snake in captivity until it died in 2010. The Columbus Zoo might have a lot to offer, but what do you do when you are an organization fighting for relevancy in the hotbed that is Columbus, Ohio? Oh, and also Taylor Swift is coming to town as part of her massive tour. Why, you do a parody of one of Swift’s music videos.

The clip for Swift’s “Wildest Dreams” takes place in the African Savannah (which has caused a little bit of controversy already) and has some sort of classic movies thing going on. There are lions and stuff. Swift’s hair is brown. You know, music video stuff. Well, of course, the Columbus Zoo has plenty of animals at their disposal. So, we see some of the ladies of the zoo with lions and a baby leopard or something, and also an old-timey plane for some reason. Plus, there’s an appearance from Jack Hanna, who is the Director Emeritus of the Columbus Zoo, apparently.

Wisely, the video is only about 80 seconds long, because any more and it would have probably started to drag. They get the job done. You see some of their animals, and they got to shout out Taylor Swift and invite her to check out their zoo. If you see Swift invite a Vervet monkey on stage to join her #squad, you’ll know they were successful.
