‘The Voice’ Takes On Aerosmith’s ‘Dream On’ In The Biggest Way Imaginable For Their New Season

At this point, if you don’t watch The Voice, you probably never will. It’s a massively popular show in its 11th season. It’s just going to be one of those things for you that exists somewhere in the background while millions and millions of people watch religiously every week. And that’s fine! However, even with that in mind, the collection of talent they have with mainstays Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and newcomers Alicia Keys and Miley Cyrus is pretty impressive. To show off all that starpower, the show decided to film a concert on their studio lot and put the enormousness of their gifts on display. And of course, what better song to go all the way over the top than the classic radio staple “Dream On” by Aerosmith?

In the video provided above, the cast of current torchbearer of singing shows — Carpool Karaoke is quickly nipping at your heels — pull out all the stops to recreate the ideal excess-filled arena rock vibe: crowd aglow with lights (but with phones, can’t encourage smoking of course), fog machines, people hanging from awnings and windows in buildings for no reason. Seriously, look at this below and tell me it makes any sense at all.

What the hell is that? Why are they there?!

Whatever, This is probably over-analyzing, anyway. Regardless, it’s a good example of the kind of thing that has made the show successful for its past 10 seasons. If you’re a fan, soak it all in. If you’re not, maybe the thunderously showy overtures of these NBC employees will finally convince you. If not, they (and I) tried.
