The Weeknd’s ‘Mania’ Short Film Is Another Bloody And Spectacular Mess

The Weeknd is going all out for his upcoming album, Starboy. In support of his third studio masterpiece, the entertainer presents Mania, a 12-minute short film as dark and twisty as the enigmatic musical genius himself.

We seemingly pick up where the “Starboy” video left off, with Abel going 100 miles per hour in his fancy ride while shots of that black panther we saw in the previous video are weaved throughout to the tune of The Weeknd’s “All I Know” featuring Future.

We then head off to the club, where the music changes again, this time to something a bit more funky before things slow down and Abel spots model Anais Mali. The two dance seductively to “Secrets,” but then Abel heads to the bathroom where a man with a knife is waiting and–no spoilers–but things get bloody AF as “Party Monster” begins to play. I’ll stop right there. But as seen in Mania and the video for “False Alarm,” Abel is all for bloody messes and I am too!

Starboy, featuring Lana Del Ray, Future and Kendrick Lamar, lands everywhere Friday, November 25. Lucky Toronto fans can kick it with Weeknd and listen to the album with a “big ass listening party” going down Thursday.

Unfortunately, my new passport won’t be coming in on time so I’m screwed. Everyone else can see Abel perform his hits when he hits the road as part of his his Starboy: Legend of the Fall Tour starting February 2017 and wrapping up in June.
