Watch This Pianist Cover John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’ At A Memorial Site For The Paris Attacks

A grand piano marked with a peace symbol sits outside the Bataclan Concert Hall in Paris. During Friday night’s terrorist attacks in France’s capital city, the Bataclan was the scene of some of the more horrifying violence to take place during the entire ordeal. On Saturday, a crowd of people came together while bonding in the wake of an unspeakable tragedy.

The scene unfolded in a spontaneous way. A man (whose identity is as of yet unclear) sat down at the piano and played John Lennon’s “Imagine” as a tribute to the victims of the attacks. A video of the performance arrives courtesy of The Guardian.

The healing quality of music was surely welcome in the city especially in light of the cancellations of upcoming concerts by U2 and Foo Fighters following the attacks. It was during a concert by Eagles of Death Metal at the Bataclan where a group of terrorists struck on Friday night. The city of Paris and its people remain in our hearts, in our minds, and in our music.
