The ‘Broad City’ Ladies Celebrate The First Female Nominee All The Way From 1776

The Late Show once again took a different route than The Daily Show with their live close to the Democratic National Convention. Over with Trevor Noah, a faux documentary was released — mirroring the same thing with Trump at the end of the RNC — and some felt that it was undermining a very historic night for the party and Clinton herself. You’ll have to decide that for yourself, but it’s clear Stephen Colbert wasn’t about to do the same.

After a few jokes to bring some balance to the night, he invited out the ladies from Broad City to react to Clinton’s nomination. The only catch is they did it as female delegates from way back in 1776. It’s safe to say they weren’t very happy it took this long to even nominate a woman for president.

Later, Abbi and Ilana join Doris Kearns Goodwin to talk a bit about Clinton and what it means for ladies across the nation — keeping that woman card held high. There’s some weed discussion tossed in there, which is truly funny when you think about Doris Kearns Goodwin toking up on Broad City. Clinton made an appearance and wouldn’t dare do it, but Goodwin has nothing to lose. Might make her next book a bit interesting, especially when she starts rewriting history.
