The Internet Trolled The Oregon Bundy Militia After They Begged For Tasty Snacks

The militia occupation in Oregon continues after Saturday’s occupation of a federal building by three of Cliven Bundy‘s sons and a loose gathering of #YallQaeda and #VanillaISIS members, who may wage #YeeHawd if they don’t get their way. Their demands include the freedom of two ranchers who were sentenced to prison after being convicted for arson under a terrorism provision. The outcries of “tyranny” persist, as does the general sense of confusion for those who feel these white men are getting away with being armed and combative while behaving like “terrorists.”

In this ABC Nightline video, Harney County’s Sheriff David Ward tells the militia, “It’s time for you to leave our community, go home to your families, and end this peacefully.” Elsewhere in the video, Ammon Bundy speaks about the group’s willingness to die to end tyranny, which is the reason the militia plans to stay for years. They have a guard tower (!), but apparently not enough supplies. FYI, Ammon has thoughts on the BLM abbreviation and why he’s not interested in the “other” movement with the same acronym.

Meanwhile, the group who is willing to die for their cause is not willing to endure death by starvation. Jon Ritzheimer, the marine who recorded a goodbye video to his family, has been exposed as an anti-Muslim crusader. Ritzheimer is also very hungry for frivolous snacks and energy drinks. He posted a new Facebook video to ask folks to send tasty goodies to the wildlife refuge.

Yes, the militiamen request warm socks plus snow gear and equipment. They’ll also take soap, deodorant, and other toiletries. Really, they’d like people to send just about anything. Naturally, Reddit populated a thread with mentions of sending glitter. A few users cracked, “I always stocked up on ammo and never stocked up on food when playing Oregon Trail, too” and “they are about to die of dysentery.”

Twitter was ready to oblige with a number of jokes, head shakes, and condemnations. Here are some of the best responses and memes.

Just for kicks, here’s Monday morning’s GMA interview with some of the Bundy militia. #YallQaeda is famous, y’all!
