Donald Trump Stigmatized Mental Illness By Labeling Gun Free Zones ‘Target Practice For The Sickos’

At Wednesday evening’s CNBC GOP Debate, the always controversial Donald Trump addressed the question of whether he’d feel comfortable if his employees brought guns to work. This was a change of pace from the usual immigration and economy-based questions that Trump enjoys answering (mainly to point out his status as a “very rich” candidate who funds all of his own campaign).

On the issue of gun control, Trump affirmed that he is a licensed gun holder who would feel quite comfy if his workers brought guns to work. He also does carry on occasion because “I like to be unpredictable.” Trump then dropped in a semi-unrelated comment about how it’s good to keep ISIS on its toes (possibly with guns as well). Ultimately, Trump feels that “gun-free zones are target practice for the sickos … a catastrophe … a feeding frenzy for sick people … They look around for gun-free zones.”

Twitter was not impressed with Trump’s answer. Not only did Seth MacFarlane compare him to Archie Bunker, but people noted that Trump quickly correlated gun violence with mental illness. Trump’s take on the gun-control issue will surely spawn more news coverage in the coming days.
