Chaos Returns To Trump Rallies After Protestors Hit The Streets In New Mexico

On the night when Donald Trump walks away with a victory in Washington, chaos hit the streets of Albuquerque that hasn’t been seen since Chicago. As you can see above, numerous protestors managed to make their way into the actual Trump event with numerous interruptions throughout, prompting Trump to pause and comment. Other protestors managed to break through barriers outside, throwing rocks and bottles into the night, and still refusing to leave hours after the Trump rally had ended according to CNN:

The protesters had broken a glass door to the convention center. Some taunted police and jumped on police vehicles as officers in riot gear and on police horses moved them away from the convention center’s exits.

Trump had already left the event.

The scene was reminiscent of the violence between Trump supporters and protesters in Chicago in March.

Video from the standoff shows police on horseback dealing with crowds of people, while CNN managed to capture protestors throwing bottles and rocks before police took the streets in riot gear. Police were also using pepper spray and smoke on protestors who refused to leave the streets, with the only arrests happening inside of the rally.

There were earlier reports of gunshots at the scene, but Albuquerque police corrected those reports. The Trump campaign also responded via Trump’s director of social media, Dan Scavino Jr.:

Many protestors were waving the flag of Mexico and numerous anti-Trump posters on the streets. CNN also reported that many protestors who had stayed on the streets did not seem to be related to the initial group of protestors at the earlier Trump rally.
