Several Hillary Clinton Staffers ‘Were Felled’ By The Same Pneumonia Strain That Struck Her

Weeks after Hillary Clinton jokingly put concerns about her rumored health issues to rest on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the 68-year-old’s doctor confirmed Sunday that the Democratic presidential candidate has been diagnosed with a bout of pneumonia following Clinton’s departure from a morning 9/11 memorial ceremony in New York. Her campaign initially reported she had been “overheated.” Now, a source has told People that many of Clinton’s staffers have also been sick.

The campaign source says a “debilitating bug” had been going around Clinton’s headquarters since late August, and People reports how several campaign aides who travel with Clinton have been ill. Campaign Manager Robby Mook had “been felled,” along with two top advisors, who received emergency medical treatment, according to the source. One of the advisors was diagnosed with a respiratory infection at an urgent-care facility in Brooklyn, and the other was taken to the ER after passing out due to “severe dehydration.”

“Everyone’s been sick,” the source told People.

According to her campaign, Clinton has cancelled plans to travel to California today and Tuesday to recover and rest at her home in New York. Meanwhile, Clinton’s presidential rival Donald Trump, who has been criticizing her health for weeks, voiced “get well soon” wishes to the candidate on Monday morning’s broadcast of Fox & Friends.

“I see what I see. The coughing fit was a week ago, so I assume that was pneumonia also. I would think it would have been, so something’s going on. I just hope she gets well and gets back on the trail, and we’ll be seeing her at the debate.”

Clinton’s trip to Nevada, which was also scheduled for this week, has not yet been cancelled.
