Katrina Pierson isn’t yet a household name, but she’s best known as the woman behind Donald Trump (no, the very game Sarah Palin hasn’t quite achieved the coveted status yet, but she’s trying). Pierson is the national Trump campaign spokesperson, and that title implies certain skills. Like Trump, Pierson is quickly becoming known for her outlandish statements. In this recent video, she defends both Trump and her unfortunate tweet from 2012, in which she lamented the lack of “pure breeds” (specifically, she referred to Barack Obama and Mitt Romney) on the presidential route.

In the CNN interview, Pierson told host Brian Stelter that she didn’t wish to retract her statements. She claims she was simply being silly: “I am a half-breed, I’m always getting called a half-breed … when you’re fighting with Twitter and even establishment, you go back at them in the same silliness they’re giving you.” With Pierson’s old tweet resurrected by this interview, folks are leaving her some critical responses.

One tweeter noted how Pierson’s “pure breed” comment evoked shades of Harry Potter character Draco Malfoy, who was part of a “pure blood” wizarding family.

Well, J.K. Rowling always seems to lurk on Twitter, and she noticed the Draco remark. She’s also made her thoughts on Trump known on prior occasions (including when she said he’s more evil than Voldemort). So, Rowling swiftly compared Pierson to a Death Eater.

Too harsh? Rowling isn’t worried about a backlash. Here’s Pierson a few weeks ago during another CNN appearance. As discussed by the Young Turks, she wore a necklace of bullets and threatened to wear a fetus necklace next.
