A Knife Attack In Japan Has Resulted In Multiple Casualties And Dozens More Injured

This Japanese media clip shows emergency personnel gathering outside a medical facility in Sagamihara (west of Tokyo) where a knife-wielding assailant reportedly attacked occupants of the building. The Guardian reveals that at least 19 people died with many more injured after a man entered the Tsukui Yamayuri Garden facility, which serves disabled people. The attack occurred at around 2:30 a.m. local time with the man going on a stabbing rampage. Four of the victims remain in serious condition at the hospital. Fox News indicates that “dozens” were left injured by this single assailant.

Police have already apprehended a suspect, a 26-year-old man who reportedly entered a police station and confessed, “I did it,” after he finished the attack. He’s known to be a former employee who broke into the center. The suspect was immediately arrested and has already been charged with multiple murder counts. He also allegedly phoned authorities during the attack. And the story grows even more chilling with news that the man reportedly told police, “I want to get rid of the disabled from this world.”

This horrific story is still unfolding, and we will continue to update if further details present themselves.
