Marco Rubio Bought A Gun Just In Case ISIS Comes Knocking On His Door

Marco Rubio stands as the most well-hydrated GOP candidate of the bunch, and he also holds strong views about terrorism and guns. He’s a huge believer in the Second Amendment and took a break in Iowa to speak with Face the Nation‘s John Dickerson. Several topics landed on the table, and Rubio is looking forward to running against Hillary Clinton. Does he have a chance? Perhaps if Donald Trump drops out of the race, it could happen.

Rubio’s visit culminated with his admission of purchasing a gun on Christmas Eve. He did so because, naturally, he’s afraid of ISIS. Rubio wants to defeat ISIS without reloading (just like Arnold in Commando). This talk is part of Rubio’s platform and a way of combining Second Amendment discussions with Rubio’s stance against admitting Syrian refugees:

“I have a right to protect my family. And that’s why I was previously a firearm holder … I think many Americans around the country feel the same way. I’m a strong supporter of the Second Amendment … if ISIS were to visit us or our communities at any moment, the last line of defense between ISIS and my family is the ability I have to protect my family from them or from a criminal.”

Rubio framed his argument so it sounds like ISIS may come knocking on his door, which won’t happen, but he’s feeding into a certain voter base. Rubio may even believe what he’s saying, although that doesn’t matter. The Internet finds Rubio’s logic amusing, and these two tweets sum things up.

Have you heard about Marco Rubio’s “Six Steps to Defeat ISIS”? His famous saying is “either they win, or we win.” This video shows Rubio’s reaction to the Paris attacks and delivers a good overview of his stance.
