Melania Trump Thinks Donald Trump Should Stop With All The ‘Retweeting’

When Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and his family sat down on Today for a “town hall”-style interview, the New York real estate mogul presented an altogether different public persona than what voters and viewers have become accustomed to. He even offered Today co-hosts Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie some of his most… dare we say it… “reasonable” responses to things like recent anti-LGBT legislation, North Carolina’s “bathroom bill” and Wednesday’s currency news. But when the microphone was handed over to the White House hopeful’s wife, Melania Trump, a stark reminder of his recent past was put front and center.

“Mrs. Trump, we’ll give you a fun one for the end,” said Guthrie. “What’s the one habit you wish he’d give up?”

The Donald’s smile and Melania’s attempted poker face spoke volumes, but the latter’s silence didn’t last long as she pegged Trump’s “retweeting” as his worst habit. (The awkward laugh uttered by one of Trump’s sons off-screen at Guthrie’s question probably deserves special attention, but at a later time.) The reference to the Republican front-runner’s popular Twitter account drew a chorus of laughter from his assembled family members, Lauer and Guthrie. Hell, even Trump himself managed a few giggles.

Laughter aside, his history with tweeting directly at (and retweeting posts about) his political rivals and pundits he occasionally doesn’t like is well known. From his many feuds with the Fox News Channel’s Megyn Kelly, to his recent spat with Texas Senator Ted Cruz over their wives, Trump’s use of the social media platform serves as one of his most controversial (and most used) outlets.
