Michael Ian Black Is Writing A Children’s Book About Donald Trump

Now that the apocalypse is practically nigh, what with Donald Trump clinching the republican nomination and moving forward to a general election — which he stands at least some chance of winning — one looming question that remains is, “How do we explain this to our children?” Thankfully, comedian Michael Ian Black, best known for The State and Wet Hot American Summer, has the answer.

On Tuesday’s Late Night With Seth Meyers, Black previewed A Child’s First Book of Trump, an actual children’s book he’s written about Trump (with illustrations by Marc Rosenthal), which comes out in July, but which you can currently pre-order on Amazon. Sample passages include:

The beasty is called an American Trump
Its skin is bright orange, its figure is plump;
Its fur is so complex you might get enveloped.
Its hands are, sadly, underdeveloped.

And who knows, maybe his book will be able to teach future generations in a post-apocalyptic America why New York City has been wiped off the map or why they now have to stand in long lines to receive clean water rations!

On a somewhat related note, Meyers asked Black if there was a line for him, as a comedian, as to what he’ll talk about in front of his own family, he had the perfect answer: “I say to my wife and kids, do you like to eat? You like living in this nice house? Then shut your goddamn mouths.”
