The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey never ceases in its vigilance to protect citizens, and a relatively routine search at the Holland Tunnel revealed apparent trouble headed into the Big Apple. Police investigated a vehicle holding three people and uncovered an entire cache of weaponry. Inside a “jacked up SUV,” authorities found an array of rifles, handguns, ballistic vests, knives, night goggles, and more.

NBC New York reveals that officers halted the group for a cracked windshield when officers made the discovery. Two men in their 50s and a 29-year-old women were swiftly taken into custody when the situation was revealed to be more extensive. Law enforcement also located drugs in the SUV, and one suspect reportedly insisted that they needed to enter Queens and rescue someone who’s on heroin. That’s certainly a bizarre twist to the story.

At present moment, police appear torn on whether this is a terror-related incident. One source from the Terrorism Task Force told Fox News, “If it’s not terrorism, it’s criminal.” Other law-enforcement sources tell NBC that these suspects are likely “gun enthusiasts” with no known connection to terror groups. They were just out for a drive, apparently? There must be more information we’re not hearing.
